Panda Challenge
M
any people who own a website know exactly what the Panda Challenge is...now. It's a sudden loss in ranking and finding that the old ways of putting up content are no longer going to work. At Web Content Provider we understand this challenge and are rising to meet the challenge head on.
What is Panda?
In February 2011 Google released it's newest algorithm. Overnight, literally, thousands of high-ranking websites disappeared from searches. Even some of those once appearing in the coveted #1 spot, disappeared into the nether regions of greater-than-30 hell. According to the Panda or "Farmer" algorithm, which uses a very strict sets of criteria to identify low quality content, any website with such content will no longer rank higher than more authoritative websites.
What Makes Content Quality Low?
According to the training information Google provide its human testers, there are some obvious signs of low quality content:
• Are written by non-experts
• Are not authoritative or trustworthy, and information is arguably useless if
it can’t be trusted!
• Contain either copied content or commonly available content, though
frequently the content is summarized and the wording is changed
• Are not well researched
• Have no citation of sources or indication about where the content came from
• Contain little actual information, even if the article is long and has a lot
of words
• Have poor writing quality, insufficient editing, and/or the information may
be poorly organized
• Exist on poorly organized pages, which include a lot of off-topic/unhelpful
links and ads
